NPCC has been training secondary school cadets since 1959, jointly supported by MOE and the Singapore Police Force. Uniform (blue) is issued. What you buy: parade boots, polish kit, PT attire, and personal items.

Before you shop

What NPCC is like in school

NPCC (founded 1959, supported by MOE + Singapore Police Force) runs 4 years of secondary-school cadet training in policing basics, law enforcement, adventure and character. Blue uniform.

Training rhythm

  • Weekly training (2-3 hours) for 4 years (Sec 1-4).
  • Modules: drill, foot patrol, crime scene basics, road safety, adventure training.
  • Annual NPCC camps + the Total Defence Badge / SHARP Award.

The school / NPCC provides

  • Blue NPCC uniform (issued).
  • Training equipment + instructors.
  • Materials for proficiency badges.

What parents buy

  • Parade boots (black, polishable).
  • Boot polish kit (Kiwi gloss).
  • Brass polish (Brasso) for buckle and badge work.
  • Dri-fit PT T-shirts × 2.
  • Drawstring kit bag.

Watch-outs

  • First inspection is in week 1-2 — buy polish kit immediately, not later.
  • Damaged or lost issued uniform incurs replacement fees.
  • Smart watches and visible jewellery are banned during parade.

Frequently asked

  • Does NPCC count for LEAPS / CCA?
    Yes. Uniformed Group tier-1 CCA; scored under LEAPS 2.0 like NCC or Scouts.
  • Can NPCC cadets actually do police work?
    No active operations. Cadets train alongside SPF for exposure (police facility tours, demonstrations).
  • What's the SHARP Award?
    The Service, Honour, Adventure, Resilience, Pride distinction — NPCC's flagship cadet award. Earned over multiple years of strong attendance and skill demonstration.
