Before you shop

What Netball CCA is like in school

Netball is one of Singapore's biggest girls' sport CCAs, competing in NSG. Court-based; bibs (positions) and game dress are issued.

Training rhythm

  • 2-3 sessions per week, 2 hours each — usually after school in the school hall or field.
  • Competes in the National School Games (NSG) — Jan to Sep season, with C / B / A Division play.
  • Peak intensity during NSG season; off-season is technical / conditioning work for netball.

The school provides

  • Game dress (uniform skirt + top).
  • Position bibs.
  • Balls and court access.

What parents buy

  • Netball / court shoes (ASICS Netburner is the go-to).
  • Ankle guards × 2 pairs — landings cause sprains.
  • Compression shorts (under the skirt).
  • Water bottle.

Watch-outs

  • Netball-specific shoes have a structured midfoot for sudden stops — generic court shoes risk rolled ankles.
  • Nails must be trimmed weekly — long nails on a netball court are forbidden.
